Earth, Space, Coding, Maker & STEM Expos

tutoringEach year, The Academy of Earth and Space Science (PANTHER) hosts six special learning days where students are challenged to facilitate collaborative academic research seminars, projects and workshops for their peers on topics related to the school’s theme. The six days are:

  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Fair
  • Hour of Code (computer programming) – See
  • Maker Day
  • Space Day
  • STEM Career Day
  • Earth Day

For example, during last year’s  Space Day, 90 students facilitated 18 unique seminars on topics ranging from “How to Colonize Mars” to “Comparative Analysis of Space-Based Science Fiction & Reality” to ” Designing and Building Robots That Can Travel On Other Planets” for the staff, their peers and special guests.
